Meet Bernice Boyden

"I've been in your shoes. You do not have to walk this road alone."

Bernice lost her son, Alex, to suicide when he was 19 years old. In the devastating aftermath, she discovered what no parent should ever have to learn — that losing a child to suicide changes everything. But even in the deepest pain, love remains. Meaning is possible. Support matters.

You are still their parent. Through her own journey through grief, Bernice felt called to help other parents navigate the unimaginable. She founded The Other Side of Grief™ to combine lived experience with grief education, coaching, compassion, and practical guidance — helping individuals and organizations find language, support, meaning, and healing after devastating loss.
